A Cinderella story of two people

from the opposite ends of the earth,

falling in love and having to overcome

the language barrier of "Florida English" and "Australian English"

Angela and BJ met in March of 2007 while BJ was in Florida at a Young Life training session.  At first, it was all business (yeah, right - who believes that) but little by little, BJ started "strutting his stuff" and trying his best to be irresistible.  Angela was being cool and not letting on that she was interested.  But God had a plan for these two and they ended up "dating" by the end of his month in Florida.  And in case you don't know, BJ is from Melbourne, Australia, which is as far away from Fort Myers and Tampa as you can get.  So the long distance courting (yep, people still use that word) started.  It took endless hours of emails, phone calls and Skype sessions, oh and a couple of trips to Australia, but the relationship developed and love became so strong, marriage was the only option.

However, before they could get married, BJ had to pass the "meet the family" test.  So BJ came to Tampa in November of 2008 for a fun family cruise, an "eat until you drop" Thanksgiving and an exciting Christmas holiday.  And BJ did pass the family test, and on December 13th, BJ proposed to Angela.  We are all excited to have BJ as part of our family.

The wedding will be held on May 2nd, 2009 on the beach at the Bilmar Beach Resort (click for web site) on Treasure Island, Florida at 7PM (or so, depending on the sunset)  with the reception to follow in the banquet hall.  The ceremony will be presided over by Rev Jorge Acevedo.
